What would you give to change a life and our community? The Cass County Community Foundation held a press conference and reception to announce the recipients of the 2011 CCCF Community Grant Awards on August 25, 2011. The crowd of attendees included representatives of the recipient organizations, as well as donors, board members, volunteers, and members of the media. This year, the Cass County Community Foundation awarded 9 community grants totaling $76,800. Funding for community grants is made available through the generosity of donors to CCCF’s unrestricted endowments.
The following is a list of the 2011 Community Grant Award recipients and their projects:
AIM Park. - $26,074.96 - for Phase I of the complex sidewalk project
The Cass County YMCA- $4,000 for Hi-Y Club
RC Volunteer Fire Dept-$7346 for emergency generator
Logansport Art Association-$9670 for the Make Studio and Heat Pump
Junior Achievement-$1500 for JA Our Nation Program for 5th graders
Cass County Council on Aging $12,630 for a handicap accessible automatic door and $1800 for dishwasher-total award $14,430
Mental Health Association $5300 for weed-whackers, snow blower, refrigerator, freezer, television
RC Lions Club $3500 for picnic tables and paint
Walton Library-$5000 for additional computers
Total grant monies awarded were $76,820.96.
